Lambda Chi Alpha at JMU

Phi-Eta Zeta (Chapter)

Lambda Chi Alpha at James Madison University was charted in April 1982 at a formal banquet attended by the brothers, Lambda Chi Executive Secretary George Spasyk, and JMU President Ron Carrier.

The fraternity flourished, first at a small house on South Main Street, then in a larger one at Main and Cantrell, and finally at Greek Row on Campus. Lambda Chi at JMU gained a reputation for success at athletics and other competitions, winning the IFC Sports Championship and Greek Sing many years.

The Lambda Chis also held a leading social position on campus, while earning a name for gentlemanly behavior and community service.

The chapter was closed in 1997, but was re-colonized in the fall of 2005. The brothers of Phi-Eta Zeta have been working towards regaining the charter and will accomplish their goal early in the Spring '08 semester The zeta has initiated 45 brothers since the fall of 2005, each one of them as well as the associate members initiated in the upcoming semester will have earned the title of "Founding Father". While the brothers have worked hard to regain the charter this feat wouldn't have been possible without the support and guidance of our 400+ alumni.
